Helping Stock Our Pantry

October 13, 2015 By admin

CEFM Network received a generous $3,500 grant from the Maryland Food Bank this summer. The Maryland Food Bank graciously delivered 4,500 pounds of non-perishable food items that included peanut butter, jelly, fruit, corn, chicken soup, beef stew, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, and more.

Additionally, recent donations from Catonsville Presbyterian, Catonsville United Methodist, St. Marks, St. Johns UCC, Salem Lutheran,Immanuel UCC, St. Agnes and the Catonsville Rotary have helped fill in the gaps in our food supplies. During the summer donations can be lean, and CEFM is often out of many food items. These timely donations helped fill many of the empty shelves.

WHAT WE DO

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Catonsville Emergency Assistance serves greater Catonsville residents with emergency food and utility turn-off intervention. We rely on a generous community of donors. CEA operates frugally and uses donations responsibly to help our Catonsville neighbors in need.

• FOOD ASSISTANCE

Our current needs for food include:  • Boxes of Cereal • Jelly • Dry Soup (Ramen/Nissin/Lipton) • Rice (small boxes or bags) • Baking Mixes (cake/brownie/muffin/pancake) • Oatmeal • Canned Meals (chef Boyardee/canned stew/canned chili) • Spaghetti Sauce • Pasta • Pasta/Rice Side Dishes (Knorr/Lipton/Rice-a-Roni)

• UTILITY CUT-OFF INTERVENTION

Energy costs can place a severe and continuing stress on a family’s budget, and sometimes, the BGE bill just can’t be paid. We provide utility turn-off assistance help to income-eligible residents within our service area. Donate now to help.
