As we move into this season of giving, we want to share my heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support that our food pantry has received during this very challenging year. Every online donation, food drive, lemonade stand, volunteer hour, and kind social media comment fuels our small non-profit’s mission: Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Please read our newsletter to find out more about what we have been doing at CEA to support our neighbors.
Thank you to our fabulous neighbors @narcissussalonandspa for hosting this food drive and supporting our food pantry. Your generosity defines our mission: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Dear Neighbors,
Happy Thanksgiving! I want to share my heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support that our food pantry has received during this very challenging year. Every online donation, food drive, lemonade stand, volunteer hour, and kind social media comment fuels our small non-profit’s mission: Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen a rising need-more families visiting CEA for the first time and more neighbors needing to stretch their resources because of increased food costs and financial uncertainties. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to respond with expanded food distributions: adding additional donation hours and sites, and increasing our community outreach through partnerships with neighboring pantries and public schools. We are also moving forward with plans to build a new pantry on our Bloomsbury Avenue property in 2026. But, our work is only possible because of you.
Whether you give food, time, or financial support, you are making a real difference for your neighbors in need. On behalf of the CEA board of directors, our staff, and every family we serve—thank you.
Wishing you all warmth, health, and hope this holiday season.
With so much gratitude,
Caitlin Kirby
Executive Director

We will be CLOSED this Thursday and Friday to allow our staff and volunteers to celebrate Thanksgiving with their families. But, we are OPEN TODAY, serving our neighbors in need, and we are out of paper towels.
So, if you have time to swing by CEA this morning with this simple “shelf staple” we’d love to accept your donation before 1PM, or we’ll just see you next week 🙂
We’re grateful for your continued support!

Thank you to the Hillcrest Girls on the Run for raising funds and awareness of CEA through your end of the season bake sale.
And, thank you to RMF Engineering for hosting their annual employee food drive and for dropping off a truck load of non-perishable food items.
